How To - Crochet a Quick and Simple Beanie for 0-6 months

This is the first post in a short mini series on how to crochet a quick and simple beanie using double crochet stitches. 

This pattern uses chunky/bulky weight yarn (yarn weight of 5) and a 6.0 mm crochet hook.

Beanie 0-6 months
Hat circumference 12" to fit up to 16" head circumference (possibly 17")

Round 1
Ch5, sl st in ch1 to form a loop, crochet 12dc into loop - (12)

Round 2
Ch2 (count as st here and throughout), 1dc in same st as chs, 2dc in next st and in ea st around, sl st in top of 2ch to join - (24)

Round 3
Ch2, 2dc in next st, *1dc in next st, 2dc in next st* repeat from * to * until end, sl st in top of 2ch to join - (36)

Rounds 4 - 12
Ch2, 1dc in next st and in ea st around, sl st in top of 2ch to join - (36) Fasten off and tie in all tails.
